When selecting an orthodontist, the following questions can help you make an informed decision:
What are the doctor’s qualifications?
Dr. Klomparens is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a distinction held by less than a quarter of all practicing orthodontists, and he is the only orthodontist in the Midland area to hold such a distinction. To find out more about Dr. Klomparens’ qualifications, see our About Dr. Klomparens page.
Why Choose an Orthodontic Specialist?
Dr. Klomparens is a Specialist in Orthodontics. To be called an Orthodontist, you are required to take 2 to 3 years of specialized education beyond required of a dentist. All orthodontists are dentists but unless you are a licensed specialist, dentists are not orthodontists. Orthodontists learn the proper way to align your bite and straighten teeth and must pass a rigorous examination by the state board to become a licensed orthodontist. Orthodontists are specialists in creating straight teeth and a beautiful smile but even more important for your long term oral health they are specialists in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of dental and facial irregularities.
